Prayerful Awareness

Pray at all times (on every occasion, in every season) in the Spirit, with all [manner of] prayer and entreaty. To that end keep alert and watch with strong purpose and perseverance, interceding in behalf of all the saints (God’s consecrated people). Ephesians 6:18 AMPC

REFLECTION

This morning I got up at around 6am to spend quality time in prayer and pondering God’s Word.  I didn’t sleep well last night and I was particularly groggy when the new day dawned. After my morning devotional time, I checked my emails and came across an email from a Christian ministry that described disturbing news about a celebrity. I read it and felt rather disturbed myself. Still feeling sleepy, I decided to take a short nap before continuing with my morning disciplines, and while napping, I had a very dark dream. I woke up upset and immediately starting praying, and the Lord helped me process it. I was reminded that we need to be alert and careful about what we consume and consider, because whatever we focus on will affect us in some significant way, and in turn, impact others accordingly. So, let’s stay mindful of God’s Word and be prayerfully aware that what we think, say and do (in every moment) really matters.

PRAYER POEM: Aware

Loving Lord ~ thank You for the countless ways You care and help me become more aware. I ask that You empower me to stay in step with You, and lead me into all that is true.

Infuse me with love from above, as I long to know You more deeply and flow with you more freely.
