The Final Word

Ephesians 1:20-23 [MSG]

All this energy issues from Christ: God raised him from death and set him on a throne in deep heaven, in charge of running the universe, everything from galaxies to governments, no name and no power exempt from his rule. And not just for the time being, but forever. He is in charge of it all, has the final word on everything. At the center of all this, Christ rules the church. The church, you see, is not peripheral to the world; the world is peripheral to the church. The church is Christ’s body, in which he speaks and acts, by which he fills everything with his presence.

REFLECTION

Let’s pause and ponder this awesome truth: Christ is in charge of it all, has the final word on everything. This is such an encouraging reminder that our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, is more powerful than anything we feel or need to deal with. In light of this truth, we can confidently obey God’s Word in faith, move forward in faith, work hard in faith, knowing that He knows what we don’t know and He knows us better than we know ourselves. Our Perfect Provider knows exactly what we truly need and when we need it, so our hearts can rest in His faithfulness while we prayerfully take action in faith. And as we stay close to Him, we can trust Him to sustain us, knowing that He loves us where we are at and that He lovingly leads us to where we need to be (which includes discipline and correction), working all things together for our good and His glory. So in the face of uncertainty and all manner of adversity we can wholeheartedly say: Hallelujah

PRAYER POEM: Through You

Loving Lord Jesus ~ You are indeed the way, the truth and the life, who alone can atone sin and silence strife. No one comes to the Father except through You, this I deeply know to be true.
