REFLECTION

Instead of grumbling and gossiping, we can give thanks for the precious people who help out in the testing of our patience. Why? Because they are like blessed pruning instruments that help to snip off branches of selfishness, so that we can grow in grace and become more fruitful. That said, I think that sometimes healthy boundaries are necessary when it comes to people who are clearly unsafe, but we can still love them – by praying for them – albeit from a safe distance. Considering the complexity of relationships and the wide range of situations on any given day, loving discernment is vital and only our omnipotent, omnipresent Maker can give us the love and wisdom we need, so let’s stay close to the perfectly loving One, that we may stay sensitive to Him and lean into love.
