Glorious Gifts

Gracious words are like a honeycomb, sweetness to the soul and health to the body. (Proverbs 16:24 ESV)

REFLECTION

There have been many times when I’ve been on the receiving end of gracious words and felt the nourishing effect of heartfelt kindness. And there have been other times when I’ve felt the sting of careless words or languished in the loneliness of no words at all. Words can be glorious gifts, so let’s give them graciously, mindful of God’s amazing grace. I invite you to pray Psalm 19:14 (ESV) with me: Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.

PRAYER POEM

My Merciful Maker ~ make me sensitive to You in all that I think, say and do. May my mouth and my mood be kept from being rude, in interactions as well as in solitude. May I glorify You in thought, word and deed, and actually live out what You have decreed.
