The Greatest Gift

“For God so [greatly] loved and dearly prized the world, that He [even] gave His [One and] only begotten Son, so that whoever believes and trusts in Him [as Savior] shall not perish, but have eternal life.” (John 3:16 AMP)

REFLECTION

Giving takes many forms, be it prayer, kind words, a hearty hug, a heartfelt letter, a lovingly prepared meal, an encouraging smile, sacrificial support for people in need or something practical thoughtfully bought. Each time I give with a heart to bless others, I too find myself blessed with priceless gifts that don’t need bows and whistles…glorious gifts that fill my heart with joy.

But, there is a greater gift still, that keeps on graciously giving, found in the awe and wonder of who Jesus Christ is and what He has done, and continues to do for and through us. On Christmas Day, some are hungry and seperated from loved ones, while others are feasting with family and friends. Some are dealing with difficulties, while others are delighting in the giving and receiving of gifts. Whatever our reality may be, let us not lose sight of the greatest Gift ever given, Jesus Christ, who is the reason for the Christmas season, and forever remains our Living Hope.

PRAYER POEM: Deeply Known

LORD, I’m eternally grateful that Christ was given that we may be forgiven.

May Your love be deeply known as we make our way to our heavenly home to be with You, and all who bend their knee to Your throne.
