Ongoing Transformation

“Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty (emancipation from bondage, freedom).

And all of us, as with unveiled face, [because we] continued to behold [in the Word of God] as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are constantly being transfigured into His very own image in ever increasing splendor and from one degree of glory to another; [for this comes] from the Lord [Who is] the Spirit.” (2 Corinthians 3:17-18 AMPC)

REFLECTION

The updated edition of my short book, Unseen Beauty, was submitted (in Kindle format) to Amazon today. So my reflection on 2 Corinthians 3:17-18 (AMPC) comes in the form of an excerpt from the book:

“We are all in a process of transformation and the sobering reality is that we can choose how we transform: in the darkness of selfishness and sin, which leads to destruction, or in the light of God’s truth and grace, which leads to abundant life. Considering an aspect of the butterfly life cycle as an illustration may be helpful: while it’s in the cocoon (pupal stage), to the human eye it may seem like nothing is happening, but an intricate process of radical transformation is happening inside. What we choose to do in the hidden, unseen-by-the-public parts of our lives informs how we transform. And just like the butterfly needs to struggle to strengthen, to be able to fly free, we too need to persevere in prayer, pondering God’s truth and living it out by His grace, and trust His higher way and perfect timing as we transform from glory to glory and experience true freedom in Christ.”

PRAYER POEM

LORD, I’m infinitely grateful that all things are possible for You and that I can truly transform and do – together with You – all that You’ve called me to. Irrespective of what I go through, may my love for You grow and You more deeply know.
