Fan the Flames

REFLECTION

Every living being is bestowed with gifts from God. We are here for a purpose. We can do nothing without our Maker, who gives us the very air we breathe and every breathe we take. Along with the many gifts God gives us, He has also given us free will. And there are certain things that only we can choose to do. And one of them is to fan the flames of our respective gifting, by actually using the gifts for the benefit of others in ways that glorify God.

Fear (of the unknown and the possibility of pain) can cause us to shrink back from taking consistent action and putting our gifts and ourselves out there, because we know that there will inevitably be criticism and the process will not always be brimming with inspiration. There will be challenges and difficulties. The truth is that everything we go through is worked together for our good and God’s glory, as we prayerfully persevere, keep showing up and trust God to do what only He can do as we consistently do what we can — in faith, hope and His unfailing love.

So, let’s ask God to shine His light into every aspect of our lives and prayerfully plan to put our God given gifts to good use, by His amazing grace.

PRAYER POEM

LORD, thank You for the gifts You’ve given me. As I prayerfully practice and persevere, I trust that You will lead me into glorious victory, and cause me and others to see the true You, as revealed in Revelation 22.
