“This saying is trustworthy and deserving of full acceptance: “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners”—and I am the worst of them. But I received mercy for this reason, so that in me, the worst of them, Christ Jesus might demonstrate his extraordinary patience as an example to those who would believe in him for eternal life.” (1 Timothy 1:15-16 CSB)
REFLECTION:
It’s very encouraging to be reminded of Paul’s remarkable transformation. So, during dark days, let’s not harden our hearts but give them to the only One who can soften and truly transform them.
Oh, the grace of God. What a comfort to know that we can come boldly to the throne of grace, because of Jesus Christ. We need not wallow in discouragement or despair, we need only go, as we are, to the One who created us and trust that as we draw near to Him, that He will draw near to us (as He promises to do in James 4:8). And as we humble ourselves and seek Him in that secret place of honest prayer, we can trust Him to help us and guide us.
