Blessed [gratefully praised and adored] be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant and boundless mercy has caused us to be born again [that is, to be reborn from above—spiritually transformed, renewed, and set apart for His purpose] to an ever-living hope and confident assurance through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, [born anew] into an inheritance which is imperishable [beyond the reach of change] and undefiled and unfading, reserved in heaven for you, who are being protected and shielded by the power of God through your faith for salvation that is ready to be revealed [for you] in the last time. In this you rejoice greatly, even though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been distressed by various trials…(1 Peter 1:3-6 AMP)
REFLECTION
What do you do when you’ve been toiling and trying to do what is right…and the tests and trials keep coming?
I take my frustration and fury to God in honest prayer, so that the perfect One can help me navigate my imperfections and the plethora of imperfections around me. And I hold on to God’s promises as I keep showing up and following through, in faith…mindful of Galatians 6:9 (AMP):
Let us not grow weary or become discouraged in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap, if we do not give in.
So let’s stay tethered to the truth of God’s Word and prayerfully persevere through the pain, trusting that He is with us as we press on in faith, hope and His victorious love.
PRAYER POEM
Caring Creator – You are perfectly faithful and You know what we don’t, so I won’t wallow in my misery, for You have secured our victory.
I choose to persistently pray, ponder Your promises and praise You – in and through the pain – trusting that all my efforts, done in faith, are not in vain.
