Trusting the Perfect One

For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when the perfect comes, the partial will pass away. (1 Corinthians 13:9-10 ESV)

REFLECTION

We may not always understand why certain things are permitted, but God does. His ways are higher and He is fully trustworthy, now and forever. (see Proverbs 3:5-6, Isaiah 55:8-9). So let’s intentionally meditate on His promises and pray that we come to more deeply know in our heart of hearts that in all things He works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose (see Romans 8:28), and that nothing can separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus (see Romans 8:38-39).

The more we get to know Him and His love for us, the more we trust Him and obey Him, and come to love Him, ourselves and others ever more deeply, irrespective of what we go through circumstantially. This is true freedom. So let’s stay tethered to truth, trusting the words of Jesus: “If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” (John 8:31-32 ESV)
