For it’s by God’s grace that you have been saved. You receive it through faith. It was not our plan or our effort. It is God’s gift, pure and simple. You didn’t earn it, not one of us did, so don’t go around bragging that you must have done something amazing. For we are the product of His hand, heaven’s poetry etched on lives, created in the Anointed, Jesus, to accomplish the good works God arranged long ago. (Ephesians 2:8-10 The Voice)
“…by the [remarkable] grace of God I am what I am …” (1 Corinthians 15:10 AMP)
REFLECTION
Only when we prioritise seeking to know and love our Maker can we know and love who we truly are because, as believers, our true identity is hidden with Christ in God (see Colossians 3:3). And as our knowledge of God’s perfect character deepens, so too will trust and love, which will enable us to better love others as ourselves (see Matthew 22:37-39). I pray that as we draw and stay near to the One who made us, we will receive and retain ever deeper revelations of who our Creator truly is and more deeply know who we truly are and who we are not.
I’m not what I do.
I’m not what I have.
I’m not what I look like.
I’m not what people say about me.
I am the beloved of God in Christ Jesus.
