“…three things continue forever [endure; remain]: faith, hope, and love. And the greatest of these is love.” (1 Corinthians 13:13 EXB)
REFLECTION
Faith, hope and love remain fixed forever, while earthly pain and pleasure are fleeting. And yet, when in pain or pursuing pleasure, there’s the danger of allowing our feelings to inform our focus. It’s important to acknowledge how we feel and there is nothing wrong with medicating pain and delighting in pure pleasure, within healthy, biblical boundaries — however — let’s not allow pain and / or pleasure to become our core focus. Irrespective of how we may feel, let’s stay focused on and fully yielded to the One who is love and who is able to keep us full of faith, hope and love — now and into eternity.
PRAYER POEM
Loving Lord Jesus ~ I pray to stay close to You regardless of how I may feel or what I may face, trusting You to grant me grace to fix my focus on things above and live a life of faith, hope and love.
