REFLECTION
While pondering this verse, I became more aware of the flow of love. We receive God’s love…we extend love by helping others in various ways and in doing so we show love to God …and find ourselves living in a love loop. As Hebrews 6:10 reminds us: “God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them.” Sometimes our feelings need to catch up to our actions, but we can trust that as we prioritise our first love – our relationship with God – who is love (see 1 John 4:16), and we step out in faith and lovingly help others, our faithful efforts will not be in vain.
PRAYER POEM: Forever True
Loving Lord ~ You caught my hand as I slid down a slippery slope and filled my heart with enlightening love and hope.
In my sorry state, You kissed my heart awake, and led me to the narrow gate, to learn lessons from above on sacrificial love.
Your way, Your word, forever true ~ whatever I do, I do in and unto You.
