REFLECTION

One of my students recently won first place at an annual speech festival and I was so surprised because the day before the competition, she was scared to go into the classroom to be tested. But she did go. And she did go to the speech festival and stand on a stage in front of a crowd of strangers, in the bright spotlight, and recite her heart out (which I’m sure was pounding)…and she took a trophy home. The key word is go. She was willing to go and do what she had committed to do, even though she felt scared. That’s what courageous faith looks like. As believers, we can be strong and courageous as we go and do what we believe God is guiding us to do, because He is with us and He is faithful — whether we win trophies or experience great success or not — for “…we know [with great confidence] that God [who is deeply concerned about us] causes all things to work together [as a plan] for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to His plan and purpose.” (Romans 8:28 AMP)
