“Whatever you do [whatever your task may be], work from the soul [that is, put in your very best effort], as [something done] for the Lord and not for men, knowing [with all certainty] that it is from the Lord [not from men] that you will receive the inheritance which is your [greatest] reward. It is the Lord Christ whom you [actually] serve.” Colossians 3:23-24 AMP.
REFLECTION
It takes a village to train children and part of my contribution involves helping families discipline their children and teach them English. Some parents thank me and some don’t. Appreciation is always appreciated, but it’s wise to stay mindful of Colossians 3:23-24 AMP.
Let’s show our appreciation to those who help us. And if/when we don’t receive appreciation, let’s not allow offence to take root in our hearts, but instead let’s fix our focus on Jesus — the only perfect One — and serve anyway, in faith, hope and His perfect love, knowing that our reward is with Him.
PRAYER POEM
LORD, You are the perfect Potter and we are the clay…help me remember that every moment of every day. May everything I say and do bring You glory, for You are the Hero of every surrendered story.
