Seek to Please God

“Do not let unwholesome [foul, profane, worthless, vulgar] words ever come out of your mouth, but only such speech as is good for building up others, according to the need and the occasion, so that it will be a blessing to those who hear [you speak]. And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God [but seek to please Him], by whom you were sealed and marked [branded as God’s own] for the day of redemption [the final deliverance from the consequences of sin].” Ephesians‬ ‭4:29-30‬ ‭AMP‬‬

REFLECTION

While we are on this earth, warfare is a reality – be it with words or all manner of weapons – but, in Christ, we have everything we need to fight the good fight of faith, and speak and do what is good and pleasing to God. Easy? No. Worthwhile? Yes – now and into eternity. The struggle is real, but we can turn to our merciful Maker in it, as we are, and ask Him to help us fully yield to Him and His way. And we can trust that He will help us, as we prayerfully move forward in faith, hope and His unconditional love.

PRAYER POEM: Move

Holy Spirit of God ~ to You I yield, as best as I currently can, trusting Your perfect plan. In the flux of fluctuating feelings, it’s You I seek, trusting You to give me good words to speak. Keep me in step with You, as I move forward in faith to do what I believe You are leading me to, with a heart set to glorify You.
