They preached the good news to that city and made many disciples, then they returned to Lystra and to Iconium and to Antioch, strengthening and establishing the hearts of the disciples; encouraging them to remain firm in the faith, saying, “It is through many tribulations and hardships that we must enter the kingdom of God.” Acts 14:21-22 AMP
REFLECTION
Today’s passage is a sobering reminder that difficulties are part of our faith journey. Let’s prayerfully tackle difficulties with the Lord, which fosters deeper intimacy and keeps us heading in the right direction. Let’s keep our hearts open to the Lord and pray to remain firm in the faith, in the choppy waters of adversity. Let’s stay prayerful, careful and thankful, trusting Him every step of the way. And however things may unfold, let’s stay mindful that, “No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 8:39 NLT)
PRAYER POEM: Quick
Lord, please help me to hear Your voice and be quick to obey, lest my heart hardens and I go astray.
