Purposeful Practice

“Therefore become imitators of God [copy Him and follow His example], as well-beloved children [imitate their father]; and walk continually in love [that is, value one another—practice empathy and compassion, unselfishly seeking the best for others], just as Christ also loved you and gave Himself up for us, an offering and sacrifice to God [slain for you, so that it became] a sweet fragrance.”

‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭5:1-2‬ ‭AMP‬‬

REFLECTION

This entire passage is weighty with timeless truth, but the word practice really stood out to me today. I’m reminded that our growth in God’s grace requires conscious intentionality…it doesn’t just happen. We need to prayerfully engage in the growth process (in the mistakes, the marvellous and the messy moments) and co-labour with the Lord, trusting Him to help us help others, as we move forward in faith, hope and His unfailing love.
