Our Faithful Father

“After all, you have not yet reached the point of sweating blood in your opposition to sin. And have you forgotten his encouraging words spoken to you as his children? He said, “My child, don’t underestimate the value of the discipline and training of the Lord God, or get depressed when he has to correct you. For the Lord’s training of your life is the evidence of his faithful love. And when he draws you to himself, it proves you are his delightful child.”

REFLECTION

When we experience hardships and all manner of difficulty, let’s choose to prayerfully persevere, mindful of 2 Corinthians 4:17(AMP): “…our momentary, light distress [this passing trouble] is producing for us an eternal weight of glory [a fullness] beyond all measure [surpassing all comparisons, a transcendent splendor and an endless blessedness]!”

So let’s meditate on the promises of God and stay in a state of trust, with praise perpetually on our lips, while still being real about how we feel and / or aware of what’s swirling around us. However life unfolds, let’s stay close to our faithful Father and trust that He is training us in the way we should go.

PRAYER POEM: Waking Wonder

Our merciful Maker, You alone atone our sin. Oh, search and sanctify me within.

Tear us not asunder, knit us together ~ waking wonder.

Perpetual praise is on my lips, for the wounds You reveal, You are faithful to heal.
