Jesus said, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your passion and prayer and intelligence.’ This is the most important, the first on any list. But there is a second to set alongside it: ‘Love others as well as you love yourself.’ These two commands are pegs; everything in God’s Law and the Prophets hangs from them.” (Matthew 22:37-40 MSG)
REFLECTION
Loving well requires faithful, sacrificial effort. In order for us to deeply experience and live out love, we need to actually do – in faith – what our loving Lord says in His enlightening Love Letter to us, His beloved handiwork. Let’s prayerfully ponder His wise words and ask Him what loving well actually looks like in the everyday details of our lives. We can trust our faithful Father to help us learn to love well as we prayerfully and carefully take action in faith, hope and His unfailing love.
