“There is no fear in love [dread does not exist]. But perfect (complete, full-grown) love drives out fear, because fear involves [the expectation of divine] punishment, so the one who is afraid [of God’s judgment] is not perfected in love [has not grown into a sufficient understanding of God’s love].” (1 John 4:18 AMP)
REFLECTION
There are many different kinds of fears. I have struggled with my own particular collection of fears, but I / we have a living hope, Jesus Christ, who can usher out every fear with His perfect love.
The question is: how do we actually experience this as an every day reality? Fearless faith is not a formula, but it flows from deep security found in a vital union with Christ. And as The Word says: ” …[you will] find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.” (Jeremiah 29:13 AMP)
PRAYER POEM: Cultivate Courage
Lord, grant me grace to pray and ponder, and live in wonder as I yield to Your way, every day.
Empower me to cultivate courage and sow sacred seeds, trusting You to meet my needs.
Enable me to fully submit to You, through every season, every storm, and by Your Spirit, truly transform.
