Give, and it will be given to you. They will pour into your lap a good measure—pressed down, shaken together, and running over [with no space left for more]. For with the standard of measurement you use [when you do good to others], it will be measured to you in return.” (Luke 6:38 AMP)
REFLECTION
I find that when I seek to do good to others, I’m also blessed in some way and I’m given grace to continue giving. I love how giving can cause blessings to flow. Blessings come in many different forms and sometimes the best blessings come out of the worst situations. God knows who needs what and when, and while nothing is impossible for Him, He chooses to include us – His beloved handiwork – in the provision process. So let’s trust God and prayerfully seek to do good to all, as we are given opportunity, and stay mindful of “…the words the Lord Jesus himself said: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’ ”(see Acts 20:35 NIV)
PRAYER POEM
LORD, I’m so grateful for every gift You give. Guide me as I give and seek to live in sync with You, for in You I’m deeply blessed and my heart finds true rest.
Mere material gain and earthly pleasure cannot compare to the priceless, eternal treasure found in You, without measure.
