“And do not be conformed to this world [any longer with its superficial values and customs], but be transformed and progressively changed [as you mature spiritually] by the renewing of your mind [focusing on godly values and ethical attitudes], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His plan and purpose for you].” Romans 12:2 AMP

REFLECTION
I’ve personally experienced the profound impact of intentionally meditating on the truth of God’s Word. And by meditating, I don’t mean just reading a scripture, thinking about it for a while and then moving on to something else. I mean setting aside time to be quiet and really focus on the Lord and His Word…asking His Holy Spirit to enlighten me as I make an effort to actually memorise a verse / passage and go over it again and again — really chew on it and digest it so that it goes down deep into my inner being — and then be still and let His living and active Word minister to my heart. I’ve found that when I’ve done this, I experienced a real shift within, which blessed my perspective and I saw people and circumstances differently in the light of His Word. And regardless of what was happening around me, I felt more connected to my Creator and the peace within me was very real. I’ve tasted this and I want more! Let’s ask our merciful Maker to help us deeply meditate on His Word and live it out, that we may truly be transformed.
PRAYER POEM
My merciful Maker — I pray to stay close to You and I trust that You will lead the way. Please help me focus and feed on Your living and active Word, every day, come what may, trusting You to truly transform me from the inside out, driving out every shadow of doubt.
