“Yes,” replied Jesus, “have you never read,

REFLECTION

I once had a very unexpected experience with a particularly challenging student. During a brief break from his writing task, he drew an interesting picture and I asked him to describe it. I stood quite startled as he simply shared an aspect of a Bible story and answered one of my prayers (which my student knew nothing about). The Lord deeply encouraged me through this simple yet profound moment with a child. My student was clearly also encouraged and our student-teacher relationship was infused with deeper appreciation.

The Bible is clear that nothing is impossible for God (see Luke 1:37-45) and that all things are possible for those who believe (see Mark 9:23). God can speak through anyone or anything, and as we prioritise our relationship with Him, we come to more deeply believe Him and His Word, even when we need to wait to see what we believe. And we are able to be more open to how He communicates with us and be more willing to do what we believe He is guiding us to do. And as we prayerfully take action in faith, our beliefs become more deeply rooted in Truth, and where there is Truth, there is true freedom. Attuning to Truth and experiencing true freedom is an unfolding process that we, as the body of Christ, are called to go through together, securely attached to Christ, who is the Head. Hallelujah!

PRAYER POEM

Loving Lord Jesus ~ how great You are, the perfectly holy Son. Truth personified, forever glorified. The One who helps us in countless ways and pursues the one who strays. May all my days be full of praise, as I trust You to help me stay open and willing to do Your bidding.
