“You see, the short-lived pains of this life are creating for us an eternal glory that does not compare to anything we know here.” (2 Corinthians 4:17 The Voice)
REFLECTION
As I write this, I am experiencing a mild measure of suffering in the form of physical affliction. It seems unfair that after spending hours this past week helping others, I am hit with physical affliction. But, as Christians, we can trust that everything we go through, the perky praise filled parts as well as the painful parts, is being worked together for good, as it’s spelled out in Romans 8:28.
So, regardless of how we may feel, let’s stay close to the One who lovingly made us. And let’s do what we believe He is guiding us to do (without grumbling), trusting Him to do what only He can do, in and through us, in His higher way and perfect timing.
PRAYER POEM: Burn Bright
Lord, when life takes an unexpected turn, may the faith You ignited within me continue to burn bright through the dark night of affliction, into the new day of decision to press on with Your commission. Not by mere might, but by Your Spirit can we fight the good fight, in the light of Your glory and grace, until we see You clearly, face to face.
