REFLECTION

Today’s reflection is in the form of an excerpt from my book Unseen Beauty:

Prayer precedes patience, and patience precedes precious peace. And divine grace is needed for it all, for only our Maker can fill us and fuel us with what we deeply need. So, prayer became a way of life. The more I prayed and pondered the truth spelled out in the sacred scriptures, the more I became aware of the sorry state of my sin-soaked soul, and the more aware I became of my need for a Saviour. The more I turned to the only One who can save our souls, Jesus Christ, the more grace I was given to yield to the sanctifying process of correction, and as I stayed open and willing to be guided into all truth, the more truth I discovered and the more freedom I enjoyed. This was not a linear process, but more like the weaving of threads into a timeless tapestry of trust, which continues still.

PRAYER POEM

Loving Lord Jesus, You are and forever will be the bright Morning Star. What a comfort that we can come to You as we are. You are always perfectly trustworthy, so I pray to stay close and yielded to You, come what may. Thank You for everything, our one and only sovereign King.
