Sowing in Faith

Let us not grow weary or become discouraged in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap, if we do not give in. So then, while we [as individual believers] have the opportunity, let us do good to all people [not only being helpful, but also doing that which promotes their spiritual well-being], and especially [be a blessing] to those of the household of faith (born-again believers). Galatians 6:9-10 AMP

REFLECTION

When life becomes very busy, difficult or messy and we find ourselves feeling weary, worried and stretched to the max, let’s remember that while physical rest is important and has its place, there is a deeper rest for the soul, found only in communion with Christ.

Jesus said in Matthew 11: 28-30 (NIV) “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

Staying close to the Lord Jesus Christ is always the answer.

It’s healthy to pray honest prayers and acknowledge raw reality (and all the feelings that go with it), but let’s not allow it all to drag us into a den of despair. Let’s remember that our faith is not based on our fickle feelings, it’s based on the unerring character and Word of God. And if we do find ourselves in a state of despair, we can cry out to our merciful Maker for help and trust His restoration process. We can prayerfully prepare to do what is good and we can trust that God will help us, as we move forward in faith, hope and His unfailing love.

PRAYER POEM: Faithful

Loving Lord, please help me to keep sowing good seed, trusting You to meet every need, for You are faithful indeed.
