REFLECTION
Seasons change, feelings fluctuate and life in general undulates, and there is nothing sure to hold onto. Not one living being is immune to the undulation of life.
So, if we attach our hope to anything other than Christ – our radiant hope – it leads to despair when the shaking comes. And the shaking must come, for our loving Lord knows how prone we are to convenient attachment and that only deep dependence on Him gives us the deep peace and security we long for. How merciful and compassionate our Maker is. He is fully aware of the frailty of our humanity. So when the despair does come, as we see that all we thought was sure is actually shifting, He extends His hand to us and calls us to come to Him, that we may know and rest in His all powerful, unfailing, eternal love.
PRAYER POEM: Search Me
Lord ~ my strength, my shield ~ to You I yield.
Search me, Your work of art, and reveal what is truly in my heart.
You know my every woe ~ take me to that high place of grace, where You banish every fear and foe.
