Alive in Love

But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved. And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus. For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works,so that no one can boast. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. Ephesians 2:4-10 NIV

REFLECTION

We are God’s handiwork…pause and think about that. There is no such thing as a self-made man or woman. We breathe and work by His grace. He made us. If I think about the things I make, the more effort and cost involved in the making and preserving of what I made, the more meaningful the thing I made means to me. So, considering the cost of the cross, imagine how much we mean to our Maker. In light of His incomparable love for us, let’s ask Him to help us to let go of anything that hinders our relationship with Him, and wholeheartedly enter into all the good works He has prepared in advance for us to do. Come what may, let’s stay close to Him, as we move forward in faith, hope and His merciful love.

PRAYER POEM: In the Light

Lord…we breathe, we work, we grow in grace because of You, as we enter into what You call us to.

Thank you, Lord, that while battles abound, You and Your blessings can always be found.

Keep me in the light of Your incomparable love and help me set my mind on things above. For You know exactly what I truly need, why and when. So in Christ I stand and say: yes and amen.
