Incomparable Love

Carry one another’s burdens and in this way you will fulfill the requirements of the law of Christ [that is, the law of Christian love]. For if anyone thinks he is something [special] when [in fact] he is nothing [special except in his own eyes], he deceives himself. But each one must carefully scrutinize his own work [examining his actions, attitudes, and behavior], and then he can have the personal satisfaction and inner joy of doing something commendable without comparing himself to another. For every person will have to bear [with patience] his own burden [of faults and shortcomings for which he alone is responsible]. Galatians 6:2-5 AMP

REFLECTION

Prayerfully and carefully examining our own lives is one of the most loving things we can do, because when we ask the Lord to shine His light of truth into every aspect of our lives, we come into deeper intimacy with Him as we work through issues. And, in turn, we are enabled to better love those around us, as we become more secure in His incomparable love. God made each precious person for a purpose, and when we live in deeper awareness of this truth then there is no need to compare, but instead we are free to celebrate and encourage each other, ever mindful that He made us all, and we are one in Christ. In loving each other, we are loving Him, our incomparable, marvellous Maker.
