” …in every situation [no matter what the circumstances] be thankful and continually give thanks to God; for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus.” (1 Thessalonians 5:18 AMP)
REFLECTION
I woke up in the early hours of this morning with my throat ablaze with pain, and I was about to down spiral into grumbling and misery, when I recalled my encouragement to others. And, in faith, I chose to quietly draw near to the Lord and pray, with thanksgiving. And while I wasn’t filled with delight, I did experience a measure of peace that I believe would not have been there had I not turned to the Lord and intentionally given thanks. Even in the darkest moments we can be thankful because of what Jesus did for us on the cross of calvary.
PRAYER POEM: Thank You
Lord, You are truly trustworthy at all times, ever abounding in loving faithfulness. Thank You for being with me in the height of delight and the depths of distress, and everything in between. Fix my gaze on You and fill my heart with Your peace unseen.
