“Even if godly people fall down seven times, they always get up…” (Proverbs 24:16 NIRV)
REFLECTION
Have you ever experienced deep disappointment, so much so that discouragement dragged you down into a pit of despair, where you felt like you couldn’t go on? If you have, you are not alone. I know how that feels and I also know that it is possible to get up and go again, over and over, until dread is replaced with determination fuelled by faith, hope and God’s love, which never fails or disappoints. True transformation is an inside out process. Before we see new growth in any area – be it relational, personal or practical – there is first an unseen process. And an essential part of this process is our personal connection with the One who made and sustains us, who alone knows what’s really going on deep beneath our behaviour and fluctuating feelings. And because of Jesus’s perfect sacrifice on the cross of Calvary, we can draw near to God, as we are, in honest prayer. And as we seek to stay close to Him in the unfolding process, we can trust that He will work wonders, in and through us, in His mysterious and marvellous way.
PRAYER POEM
My merciful Maker ~ I pray to stay in sync with You today. In all that I think, say and do, grant me grace to face what I must and trust You all the way through.
