Divinely Different

“In his grace, God has given us different gifts for doing certain things well…”

REFLECTION

Each precious person is wonderfully unique and loved by our marvellous and merciful Maker, who has made each one of us divinely different, and has blessed with different gifts. We also all have our own unique set of issues to deal with and, as believers, we are all in an ongoing process of sanctification and transformation as we make our way to our heavenly home.

Each person is wired differently and there are different ways to approach spiritual disciplines. There is not just one cookie-cutter way of drawing near to God. Let’s consider a few ways…

•Spending time in nature, in awe of God’s handiwork, thanking Him for all that He so generously provides.

•Listening to God’s Word when we first wake up or anywhere, anytime: https://www.biblegateway.com/bible-audio-app/

•Using our skill-set to volunteer at a local church and / or Christian NGO, and actively live out the Word of God by helping others (which also helps us).

•Reaching out to trusted believers, sharing what’s on our hearts and praying together.

•If focus is an issue, we could use helpful devotional apps like Lectio 365: https://apps.apple.com/hk/app/lectio-365/id1483974820?l=en-GB

There are so many different ways to connect with our Maker, who clearly delights in creativity. So let’s cultivate curiosity and creativity, with hearts open to connecting with our caring Creator and His creations.
