“Set your mind and keep focused habitually on the things above [the heavenly things], not on things that are on the earth [which have only temporal value]. For you died [to this world], and your [new, real] life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory.” (Colossians 3:2-4 AMP)
REFLECTION
Facing flights with an unfamiliar airline, I prayed, planned and prepared before boarding the first flight. The experience that then ensued involved a lot of waiting, extensive patience practice, hours in a very cramped space with incessant noise, tummy issues, delays, chaotic airport security and dashing to catch a connecting flight, flush with all sorts of tests and trials. I was reminded that prayerful planning and preparation has its place, but only God knows what each moment holds. So, in every experience, let’s pray and press on, and trust our sovereign Saviour to see us through.
PRAYER POEM
Loving Lord, only You know everything about everything, so I bring to You every detail of my life and ask You to infuse my heart with Your love and grant me grace to keep my mind set on things above.
