“Always be ready! You don’t know when the Son of Man will come.”(Matthew 24:44 CEV)
REFLECTION
I was once moved to share the gospel with a colleague, and I recall her saying that maybe one day, when she’s older, she’ll get involved in a church — like it’s some kind of extracurricular activity, an optional add on. I went on to remind her (and myself) that we don’t know when it’s our time to leave this earth, that only our Maker knows …which is why we all need to turn to Christ while there is still breath in our lungs, and keep our hearts open to Him, as we pray and ponder His Word, ever ready to do — in faith — what we believe He is guiding us to do. “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.”(John 3:16-18 NIV)
PRAYER POEM
My Merciful Maker, only You know the days allotted to me and only in You can I experience eternal victory. Come what may, help me close to You stay, ever-ready to obey. By Your grace, I can do what You say, until that glorious day when I see You face-to-face.
