Prayerfully Press On

Focused on the Goal

I’m not saying that I have this all together, that I have it made. But I am well on my way, reaching out for Christ, who has so wondrously reached out for me. Friends, don’t get me wrong: By no means do I count myself an expert in all of this, but I’ve got my eye on the goal, where God is beckoning us onward—to Jesus. I’m off and running, and I’m not turning back.” (Philippians 3:13-14 MSG)

REFLECTION

As a new day dawned, it brought with it an array of options. Sleep in or show up? Help others or do only what pleases me? Accept reality and prayerfully process it or indulge in distractions and deepen denial?

After an intense week, I really wasn’t keen to get up early and do what I had committed to do. But, I got up in faith and I spent quality time with the Lord, praying and pondering His Word. As the day unfolded, I prayerfully did all that I had committed to do and as the day came to a close, I found my heart full of faith, hope and love.

There are all manner of blessings just waiting to be discovered as we prayerfully press on and show up, help others and ditch denial.

PRAYER POEM

LORD, I pray for grace to face reality with clarity and do what needs to be done, mindful that the victory has been won. In every moment — be it merry or morose —keep me close.
