REFLECTION

Thanksgiving and delight flow forth freely when life unfolds the way I envisioned it would. But, when I find myself in the thick of unexpected and rather uncomfortable circumstances, that flow can come to an abrupt halt — if I focus on what’s wrong instead of keeping my gaze on who is always right, Jesus : “…the Author and Perfecter of faith…”(Hebrews 12:2 AMP)

I find that when I catch myself starting to spiral down into discouragement and I begin to intentionally encourage myself in the Lord — praying about the issues and proclaiming His truth, with thanksgiving — I experience a significant shift. Something supernatural happens within me, which positively impacts what I’m dealing with circumstantially. And as my faith is tested and proved, my faith increases and the thanksgiving that flows from fortified faith is enlightened and glorious. It not only blesses me, but also blesses others and further fortifies my faith. Hallelujah! So let’s stay close to our wonderfully wise, perfectly trustworthy, ever loving Lord — every day, come what may.

PRAYER POEM

My merciful Maker…keep me close to You and tethered to Truth at all times — in the valley, on the mountaintop, in the places unseen and everywhere in between. You are always worthy of praise, so I will proclaim Your goodness for the rest of my days.
